everybody loves a party.

this weekend i helped host a "sprinkle" for my sister-in-law, rachel, and my soon-to-be-here baby nephew, jasper. if you're like me, you've may have never heard of a "sprinkle". some define a sprinkle as a small shower, specifically for a mother pregnant with her second child.
i like to think of it as another excuse to throw a cutesy party, hang out with friends and family, and eat delicious food. hey, there's nothing wrong with that!

if you know rachel, you know she loves all things vintage and country-chic. jasper's nursery is even vintage-y and country with little tractors and blue and red accents. we decided to run with that theme for the shower and include lots of burlap and gingham, red and blue, and of course, a tractor or two.
i found this simple shower game (on this blog) and i made my own version for shower. i'm not into to those "sniff the diaper" shower games or "don't say the word baby", but this was just enough to get everyone talking and having fun.

the food was so delicious and prepared by rachel's mom and sisters -- they style every thing in the cutest way, they're like undercover caterers or something. i especially loved the mini-chocolate (and lemon!) pies.

now, all we have to do is wait for jasper to arrive.
